Everest Poker are once again pushing boundaries of excellent customer service this week as they announce their new Live the Dream promotion. Reminiscent of Pop Idol, Everest Poker are looking to turn ten players into overnight superstars and become sponsored pros for all of 2008.
The ten lucky winners receive a year long sponsorship package which will see them travel the globe and play in the biggest tournaments for free. Unlike other poker rooms which only sponsor the rich champions that could probably already afford the lifestyle.
The package is worth $100,000 and includes the following:
• European Poker Tour Season 4 Grand Final ($13,000 buy-in)
• World Series of Poker Main Event ($10,000 buy-in)
• Two World Series of Poker Side Events (2 x $2,500 buy-in)
• Two World Poker Tour Season 7 events (2 x $15,000 buy-in)
• Two European Poker Tour Season 5 events (2 x $10,500 buy-in)
• Plus $21,000 in cash for expenses
Qualification is unlike any other promotion seen before. First you must make it into the top 200 finalists. There are two ways to do this, you can either qualify through a number of online satellites or the top rakers on the Summit Leader board will automatically get a place.
Once you have made it into the finals, this is where the real test of your poker personality comes into place. The next stage is called the Casting Call and you must audition your way to the top ten places. This means demonstrating your online poker skill, live poker skill, personality, Everest Poker brand knowledge, blogging skills and speaking skills. You get your own webpage to do this and people will vote on their favourite future superstars.
So if you think you’re the next Mouth of poker or you think that you could have the looks to knock Antonius off his pedestal, sign up to Everest Poker and maybe next year we will be writing about you here at Pokernews.

All the attention this weekend focuses on the Premier league clash between Arsenal and Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium and bookies are already predicting that the match is a title showdown.
William Hill have opened a book on how many goals will be scored in the Arsenal vs Manchester United showdown and despite Arsenal being in free-scoring form, William Hill believe that Manchester United in the Premier League will be a different proposition for Arsene Wenger’s men and the firm go 12/5 that two goals are scored in the game and one goal 7/2.
However if the likes of Cristiano Ronalod, Carlos Tevez and Wayne Rooney fid their stride, William Hill 15/2 that the game will produce five or more goals. Rooney in paricluar has proved a thorn in the side of Arsenal and on two particular occasions he has devastated the Arsenal faithful. In 2002 in his first season proper in the Premier League the striker scored a last-minute screamer for Everton against Arsenal to end the north London side’s 30-match unbeaten run and he also stopped Arsenal momentum in 2004.
Bet365 have a number of specials on Rooney bringing to a halt Arsenal’s winning start to the season and the firm are 4/1 that the England striker scores and United win all thre points.
Arsenal have scored the most goals in the Premier League so far this season with 22 and Manchester United have 19. The two sides are 2/1 joint favourites with William Hill to be the top scoring Premier League club this season. Hills also offer 5/1 Chelsea (16); 13/2 Liverpool (17); 10/1 Newcastle (19) and Spurs (18); 16/1 Portsmouth (17); 25/1 Man City (15); 33/1 Everton (15) and 50/1 Blackburn (15).
Avram Grant’s free-scoring Chelsea side who have scored ten goals in their last two games are 12/1 with William Hill to keep up their recent average by scoring five or more against a Wigan side that have not won in the Premier league since August. William Hill offer 11/1 that they will fail to score; 11/4 that they hit one; 5/2 two; 10/3 three; 5/1 four.

With nothing to choose between the best attack in the Premier League and the stingiest defence, Arsenal against Manchester United promises to make for a mouthwatering clash on Saturday lunchtime.
A win for Arsenal will see them equal a club record seventh straight home win, while United – who are level on points at the Premier League summit with Saturday’s opponents – have won eight matches in a row.
The Premier League champions have scored four times in each of their last four matches with Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez all hitting top form and United will be out for revenge for their 2-1 Premier League defeat at the Emirates last season. The Gunners meanwhile, were dominant in an exhilarating 1-1 draw at Liverpool last week which sent out a true statement of intent to their Premier League title rivals.
Arsenal’s irresistible attack will go for broke at home, which could play into United’s hands, lethal as they are on the counterattack. Nonetheless, Arsene Wenger’s side have an inner belief which has seen them respond positively to adversity as we saw at Anfield last week.
There will be goals in this game but I think both managers will settle for a draw, which is available at 11/5 with SportingBet, in the knowledge that it is in the battles against the Premier Leragie’s lesser lights where the title war is won or lost. It is worth noting, though, that Arsenal have scored after the 79th minute in 11 of their 17 matches this term, making 8/5 with SportingBet about the last goal being scored in those last ten minutes (plus added time) too good to miss.
Elsewhere, Avram Grant’s improving Chelsea side will have no problem sealing a seventh win on the bounce at Wigan, who have lost five in a row and will not relish trying to hold out against a side that have scored ten goals in their last two matches.
In Germany, early Bundesliga challengers Hamburg should have no trouble sending Hertha back to Berlin empty-handed. The second-placed German side have won nine of their last ten matches, including their last six on the spin, and face a Hertha outfit that have lost five out of six Bundesliga matches. On Sunday, meanwhile, fourth-placed Karlsuhe can return to winning ways in the Bundesliga as they host a dismal Duisburg side reeling from a run of seven losses from eight matches, including a 4-0 cup thrashing by Werder Bremen in midweek.

Question marks over Russian tennis star Nikolay Davydenko were again raised yesterday when the world No 4 was involved in yet another contentious match.
Davydenko was soundly thrashed 6-2 6-2 by Marcos Baghdatis in the third round of the Paris Masters, and during the game he was asked to “try your best” by the umpire Cedric Mourier following a string of double faults. His opponent was disbelieving at the net questioning his opponent’s motivation.
Trading exchange Betfair are currently refusing to trade on any match involving the Russian due to a pending ATP match-fixing investigation that focuses on a game in Poland in August against world No 87 Martin Vassallo Arguello when at one set all Davydenko withdrew with a foot injury - which triggered Betfair’s action after they saw suspicious trading activity on the exchange.
Davydenko, who was the defending champion before yesterday’s debacle made ten double faults and 36 unforced errors during a match he was 4/7 to win at the outset. When asked by the umpire to step up his performance Davydenko responded by saying “what can I do?” to which the French umpire replied: “Serve like me. If you serve like me, you put it in the box. That’s it.”
At last week’s St Petersburg Open, Davydenko was fined $2,000 (£976) for not trying hard enough against Croat Marin Cilic yet he remains bemused at the allegations and puts his troubles down to a loss in form.
“I cannot serve,” he said after the match. “That was happening in St Petersburg. I don’t have pain really. I have no pain in my elbow. I need to find what’s the reason I cannot really serve.”
ATP president Etienne de Villiers told a conference in London yesterday that he would ban for life any player caught match-fixing.
“There is no excuse for that,” he said. “You are undermining the integrity of the sport, you are destroying a level playing field. As far as we are concerned in tennis, if they are involved in match fixing they will be thrown out.”
Former world No. 1 Martina Hingis announced her retirement from tennis yesterday, after she revealed that she had tested positive for cocaine during Wimbledon this year. The 27-year-old, winner of five Grand Slam titles, strenuously denied taking drugs, and has vowed to clear her name.

It seems to be al out war between Sir Paul McCarntey and former wife Heather Mills McCartney, or rather she is gunning for the fomer Beatles’ fortune - all my Loving? Rather, You never give me your money.Lady Mucca, as she has been dubbed after the tabloid press exposed her past life as a call girl, has been crying Help! on American TV shows, revealing that she fears for her life because of death threats.
“All I can say is when we first split, I said to Paul, ‘I’m going to be crucified. … You know why we split. You know the truth. They don’t need to know the details, but you need to stand up and say, ‘I’m responsible for the breakdown of this marriage’,” Mills McCartney told NBC’s Today programme.
Lady Mucca then went on to blame the British tabloids for her problems and revealing that she would seek European legislation to make newspapers apologize to her for untruthful stories. The chances of that happening are of course about as likely as Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds being made a song for an anti-drugs charity but her recent comments have served one use - they have inspired William Hill to open a book on what the future holds for her.
William Hill are offering 3/1 that Heather moves to the States by the end of the year; 10/1 that she is declared bankrupt, 25/1 that she gets back together with Paul and 25/1 to pose topless in the next two years . William Hill’s odds suggest that Heather is even money to receive a £50 million plus divorce settlement and she is odds on at 8/15 to publish a warts and all book by the end of 2008!
“Until her recent outburst we had hardly received a bet request, negative or positive, but we now have a decent number of bets in the book, the most popular of which has been for Heather to move to America…wishful thinking for many Beatles fans,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
All leaves us wondering what Paul though when he saw her standing there and whether the whoe issue will be resolved with money - that’s what she wants…(that’s enough song quotes, Ed)
William Hill Heather Mills Specials:
To write a warts & all book by the end of 2008: 8/15 Yes, 11/8 No
