Casino Craps Rules
Craps is an interesting game that requires one to place two bets. It is a simple game and easy to understand. One must thoroughly understand the rules of the game before beginning play. Four to six players play Craps on a table with two dice.
The objective of the game is to roll a particular number on the first throw after placing a bet. One must be aware of the chances of a particular number appearing on a throw. This increases the chances of winning the bet. There are more than six ways of getting a seven while a two or twelve can appear only once.
The player who throws the dice is the shooter. The player wins his bet if he rolls a seven the first time around. The number that appears in the second throw is the point number. The shooter will continue rolling the dice until this point number comes again. However, if seven appears in the second roll the player loses his bet, but continues his point.
Then the next round of play begins. Another player becomes the shooter and begins throwing the dice as before. The craps table has four main characters. Two dealers pay the winners and remove their chips if they lose. The box man controls the roll of the dice and the stickman regulates the speed of the game.
A two-colored marker indicated the type of throw of the dice. When the black side is up it means that it is the first throws of the dice. When the white side is up it, means the shooter has a point number and one must place the marker on this number.
One must place the first bet called the pass bet. If the first throw gets a seven or eleven one wins the same amount as one has bet. If the dice throws up a two, three or a twelve then one loses the bet. Any other number other than these becomes the point number.
One has to place the second bet on the set number. One must get the same point number to win both bets. If one gets a seven before the point number one loses both bets. To ensure successive wins one has to study the chances of winning with particular numbers.
The chance of winning with a ten is better and one can get double the amount of wager with this number. With a five or nine card, one gets one and a half times the wager and with a six or eight one gets thirty percent chance of winning the bet. The probability of winning is higher with an odds wager. On an odds wager the casino edge is less than one percent and one has the best chances of winning the prize money.
The game of craps is thus not very difficult. One must first familiarize oneself with the rules of the game, the betting actions and the odds of winning with particular numbers. Armed with this knowledge one can increase one’s chances of winning. Therefore, a little study can go a long way in making the game of craps enjoyable and exciting for the players.
